BNB FRIEND OF THE WEEK - MIZ KORONA

MIZ KORONA

1. First off, tell us who you are, who you be, what you do...

I am Miz Korona a dope emcee born and raised in Detroit Mi. I'm a Virgo and my eyes are brown. Wait this ain't no dating game LOL

2. What started your music career?

My love for music started at a young age. My birth father used to sing in a group called the Floaters (Float On) so I guess I inherited most of my talent from him but I credit my mom for starting my career as a emcee. She bought me my 1st hip hop records when I was 10yrs old and my life changed from that day forth.

3. What inspires you to do what you do?

The creator, My Family,Love, Hate,Life Experiences and music itself inspires me. Also the people around me I witnessed the growth of Detroit's biggest artist from a front row view at the Hip Hop Shop and The Shelter. I had the honor and privilege of knowing 1 of if not THE illest dudes on the beats (and rhymes) J Dilla (RIP) and the illest dude on the battle scene Big Proof (RIP) who took me under his wings now if that ain't inspiration I shouldn't be doing this

4. Tell us one secret, one truth, and one lie..

1 secret huh? Let me see. Ok I have a secret crush on Beyonce, I am the Truth and the world will recognize that very soon! I don't lie (and that's no lie)

5. If you could listen to one album for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?

Wow that's a really great question seeing as though I have a wide range of listening pleasure. I'm gonna say Slum Village's Fantastic Vol 2. Cause the vibe of the beats and rhymes are just refreshing. Also I would need something to keep me upbeat and sane and that album never seems to get old to me

6. If you would win 10 million dollars, what would you do or buy?

I would buy my own label and sign artists based on their love for music, talent, drive and will to win. I would also start a charity to help minority children travel abroad to experience different ways of learning living. Oh and I would buy a shit load of sneakers LOL

7. If you were not doing music, what would you be doing?

LOL funny you should ask that. I would probably be a dentist or a stripper lmao (J/K)

8. To BLING or not to BLING?

That is the question

9. What artists have you had the pleasure and honor working with? and who would you LIKE to work with?

As you may know I had the ultimate pleasure of working with Eminem and Xzibit in the 8 mile movie but I would love to do music with both of those dudes 1 day soon. I've worked with Invincible,Guilty Simpson,Big Proof (RIP),Obie Trice,Marv Won and damn near ever artist in Michigan!
I really wanna work with whoever's dope out there it's so many great artist it would take months to name em all. But to name a few Bahamadia, T.I.,Brandy,Jean Grae,Nas + more.

10. Any additional info, upcoming shows, projects, etc..

After all these years of hard work and patiently waiting for my turn I'll be (Independently) dropping my album "The Injection" on June 15th. The 1st release party is gonna be held at this dope spot called MOCAD (Downtown Detroit). I've been leaking a lot of previously unreleased material leading up to the launch of the album on whutupdoe.com and I also have another project called Dope Muzik up for free download @ mizkorona.bandcamp.com so I hope people will go check me out and cop The Injection when it drops June 15th. Thanks Peace

BNB FRIEND OF THE WEEK - Jomac Enroe

 JOMAC ENROE

1. First off, tell us who you are, who you be, what you do...
Jomac. A Drafter/Computer Aided Designer or CAD Operator by trade.  Plus, a everyday dude who just so happen to have a high appreciation for music to the point he'll often create his own.
2. What started your music career?
Always been a music fan since the early 80's.  The likes of: LL Cool J, Kool Moe Dee, Doug E Fresh, and Slick Rick all pulled my attention to the culture. Plus, I was always listening in to my older cousin Aychell (now Blackberry Jones)make beats and write rhymes since we were little.  Practically all my life I grew up around the same 1st cousin with him being like my big brother.  Honestly, I would always try to write rhymes or rhyme since I can recall...but I just got started making beats only a few years ago.  I was living on 16th St. North West DC where the same older cousin soon moved in and turned the whole living room into a Studio. We was the loudest unit in the whole building too. When he'll leave out, I'll play on the ASR-X and other equipment he'll have around.  Ha, it got to the point he kicked me off his equipment and directed me to some 'Starter' equipment of my own.  Been making my own eversince then.
3. What inspires you to do what you do?
Both the presence of good music and the lack of it inspires me.  Reason being:  Good music makes you want to hear more...so you create.  The lack of good sounds, does the same, makes you want to create what you want to hear.

4. Tell us one secret, one truth, and one lie..
I love hearing different patterns anbd sounds normally not used. - Truth.
I'm a seasoned Pioneer who been making music for a real long time. - Lie

5 If you could listen to one album for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?
From Artz Unknown by Kankick.  When I first heard it, outside of ATCQ, that was a full music experience w/ authentic beats and honest rhymes.

6. If you would win 10 million dollars, what would you do or buy?
I'd buy every family member a home and put some away for my kids and my little cousins to go to school OR use it towards building on their crafts or trades.

7. If you were not doing music, what would you be doing?
I'd still be getting up at 3:00am, Commuting 2 hours to go to work everyday to make ends meat.

8. To BLING or not to BLING?
Ha, I'd Bling only within.  Outside, I'll have to keep it regular.

9. What artists have you had the pleasure and honor working with? and who would you LIKE to work with?
I worked with: Arablak, Hijrah, Dex RiffRaff McGriff, Jonwayne, Re:source, Mumz Medina, Slum Pritt, ELOHSEE, Humble Just, and possibly Eagle Nebula and Omun (of the Remainz Crew). Would like to work with anybody who is honest to thier message or craft.

10. Any additional info, upcoming shows, projects, etc...
Right now having a few beats mastered just in case, but still keepin within the dirty sound.   Other than that, it's work, music, and whatever project may come up.  Oh, Ha...can't forget a possible Eartha Kitt project with BlacknBling.

BNB Friend Of The Week! - Magestik Legend

1. First off, tell us who you are, who you be, what you do...
I am Magestik Legend. I'm a Mc/Producer/Songwriter/Performer/Engineer/Independent Hustler/Survivor..etc

2. What started your music career?
Haha! Funny Story...but don't laugh! The household I grew up in was pretty sheltered as far as music goes. I had to sneak in the "Explicit Hip Hop". My parents didn't understand that all rap music wasnt about killing and having drug infested orgies. Keep in mind, I'm an 80 baby so..when I was young there was this crew who was about the same age as me called...Kriss Kross. Kriss Kross became my example to them that Hip Hop was "ok". Kriss Kross was about my age. They were successful. Positive. And they weren't really cursing at the time. I never wanted to actually be a rapper, at the time all I did was write poetry and draw. I just wanted them to understand where I was coming from. So, short story shorter...One day I found out that Kriss Kross wasnt even writing their own lyrics. This PISSED me OFF to the point where I actually wrote a couple battle raps against them. I planned on sneaking back stage at their show at Joe Louis Arena and battling them. That didn't happen...but my career did. Go. Figure. "Kriss Kross will make ya....." lol

3. What inspires you to do what you do?
I feel blessed to have the talent I have. I've seen a lot of people leave this earth before they got to share they're talent with the world. I feel the fact that I am blessed with this talent and STILL alive gives me a responsibility to do all I can do to share it. Worst come to best, maybe I can be an inspiration.

4. Tell us one secret, one truth, and one lie..
SECRET: I'm single.
TRUTH: I'm a father.
LIE: I never lie.

5 If you could listen to one album for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?
This may be the hardest question I've ever been asked. I really have no idea. I love A LOT of music. Marvin Gaye's greatest hits maybe...

6. If you would win 10 million dollars, what would you do or buy?
I would pay a genius to create a perfect budget where I could donate, invest, spend money now....and still be Rich enough to give my kid a great future foundation and never have to work again. EVER!

7. If you were not doing music, what would you be doing?
I would probably either be playing NFL Football or teaching. I still want to be a teacher.

8. To BLING or not to BLING?
Nothing wrong with rewarding your hard work with a little splurge. My Bling would be a Black 1987 Jaguar in perfect condition. BlackNBling! lol

9. What artist have you had the pleasure and honor working with? and who would you LIKE to work with?
I've had the pleasure of working with my producer Astronote, my former crew Subterraneous, Audible Doctor, Capital D, Elzhi, Black Milk, Tiffany Paige, Rhettmatic, Buff 1, 14kt, Snowman Jack, Finale, Fyza, Kashia Bleu', Apollo Brown, Nick Speed, ZO!, Choklate, JU-ICE, Invincible, IMAKEMADBEATS, Mphazes and more...A LOT of dope cats. As far as who I wanna work with...most of my Dream Collabs are with artist that are no longer with us. So my mind is open to where my music takes me.

10. Any additional info, upcoming shows, projects, etc...
Yes. Im preforming in PHX/LA/Colorodo/DEMF/Canada/Overseas etc soon. The best way to keep in touch with where Im at and what is goin on with me is www.MaGestiKLeGenD.com or myspace.com/magestiklegend. Also, I have an EP and LP on the way amongst other projects. StayConnected!!!

Friend of the Week

Thurzday

1. First off, tell us who you are, who you be, what you do...

I am Thurzday, 1/2 off the amazing U-N-I. I eat, sleep, record, buy kicks, and rock stages

2. What started your music career?

What started my career...hmmm...well I wrote my first verse when I was 7, so I guess that would be the birth of me being an emcee. It got more serious in high school where I met Y-O. We formed our official duo in 2006, dropped FCW in 2007 and the grind continues.

3. What inspires you to do what you do?

My inspirations are my daughter and wanting to be the most clever and wittiest....wanting to be the best and make a career off what I been doing for most of my life.

3. Tell us one secret, one truth, and one lie

One secret? I hate seafood. One truth? I graduated from LMU with a degree in Finance. One lie? I can't think of any

4. If you could listen to one album for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?

Damn, that's a hard question, but I have the best answer. It would be my album with Ro Blvd, "A Love Supreme," because it reflects me at this very moment, the production is incredible and I think it will influence the masses.

5. If you would win a million dollars, what would you do or buy?

I'd pay off all my damn debt and then invest in different economies for some residual income in my offshore accounts.

6. If you were not doing music, what would you be doing?

I'd probably be knee-deep in commercial real-estate and throwing Hip-Hop related events to uplift the LA music scene.

7. To BLING or not to BLING?

No trends, I just wear what I wanna wear....so I feel like blingin I'll be blingin that day

8. What artist have you had the pleasure and honor working with?

I've had the pleasure of working with Y-O. He's the other half of U-N-I, and we make great music. Tell a friend about us

9. Any additional info, upcoming shows, projects, etc
