My name is DJ ICE, Official DJ for Hip Hop Pioneer Chief Rocker Busy Bee, Hip Hop Aficionado, Seventh Letter Crew Dj/representative, Survival Specialist and owner of Wilshire District music. I Manage talent & booking shows for independent artists.

2. What started your music career?

This is a long answer cause there are various aspects of how I got started. My father owns a barbershop and as youngster he always played the funk in the shop ev'thing from Johnny Guitar Watson, Commodores, Confunction, Stevie etc. Pops also took me to my first concert The Commodores before Lionel left and went solo. I was a regular on morning radio show Q104 in KC around 83' when I was in 5th grade. I first began collecting records that the P.D.of the station would give to me. Mom's worked in radio/tv and I was able to see many shows, one significant RUN DMC / Whodini concert in 85 after watching JMJ and Grandmaster Dee and also saw Doug E Fresh with Chill Will and Barry B rock it live on stage and knew I wanted and could do that. Shortly there after in high school, I met JOC MAX dj/hip hop producer whom I was a student of the art and culture of DJing and Hip Hop. I moved to Cali in 88' after graduating in 91' I began an internship at MCA Records and my first big break working records like Heavy D "Peaceful Journey", Eric B & Rakim "Don't Sweat the Technique", Young Black Teenagers, Brothahood Creed, Soundtracks for JUICE, House Party 2, Strictly Business, CB4 and many others for Brute Bailey head of Rap Promotions and the rest is history.

3. What inspires you to do what you do?

My faith in Jesus Christ, to inspire and move others to believe in themselves and never give up. The artists that I'm honored to work with, and the preservation of the culture of Hip Hop. lastly the Funk, live for the Funk of it.

I did the wop on the Arsenio Hall show w/Arsenio, my original dj name was DJ White Ice named after George Gervin the ICEMAN, I was bagger of the year for Ralphs Grocery stores!

5 If you could listen to one album for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?

RUN DMC - self titled first album. Because I never get tired of it, it was the first album that made me want to do what I'm doing today in Hip Hop.

6. If you would win 10 million dollars, what would you do or buy?

I would give to schools and school programs throughout the world. I help others in scholarship program achieving and reaching for their life goals. Buy moms a home, even though she already owns her home. Take care of family and friends. Take care of those that have taken care of me along the way. oh also open a Hip Hop Museum preserving the culture of Hip Hop, giving credit to the pioneers who paved the way.
