Follow up project to the 2006 debut release "The Channel," Alex Lee the eMCee does it again with this year's "Headphone Heroes." A combination of head-knock beats and smooth grooves, Ms. Lee is droppin knowledge on you suckas this time around and is really solidifying her spot in the game with this one. She sticks to the format this round with the majority of production from hometown underdog BB Blancherd, who also co-produced on the EP's new West Coast California anthem "CaliSoul." Standout tracks include the very obscure "Bam! BOOM!" bringin the heat to the streets, while she walks us through the party letting us know it ain't about the drama, "I Just Wanna Dance." The highlight of the EP come from gems like "Doin' It" and "Lil' Things" where Alex finds herself at her best giving the world a heartfelt make-over and injecting her listeners with a positive frame of mind, reminding us that there's light at the end of the tunnel and that you can make it if you try.
